FAQs

How much will the translation or editing cost?

This will vary depending on the scope of work (translation or transcreation or copy-editing), the type of files (Word, PDF,etc.) and how quickly you need the work done. Please fill out our contact form to find out more. I will be happy to provide a free quote.

What is the difference between translation and transcreation?

Translation takes a text in one language (source) and transfers its meaning into a second language (target). It conveys meaning as well as translating individual words and phrases.

Transcreation (translation & creation) focuses more on the entire text, adapting the source text for the new audience by adding, removing, or changing content.

What is copy-editing?

This is also known as language editing. The content, style, spelling and grammar of the English text will be revised and reviewed.

What is academic copy-editing?

In addition to the usual copy-editing tasks, the formatting of citations, sections and chapters is also standardised, as well as linguistic consistency. Any required style guide will be applied. The authors receive, not just an edited text, but also queries regarding the text that need to be clarified before the text can be published.

How do I request a translation or quote?

Please fill out our contact form and let me know what you need. I will get back to you and we can define the scope and schedule of your language project together.

How do you ensure high translation quality?

I am a native speaker of British English with over twenty years’ experience in translation and copy-editing. I am a member of SFÖ , the Swedish Association of Professional Translators. All work is carefully translated and proofread, and can be proofread by a second English linguist if required. Please also see the Recommendations from previous clients .

How do I pay for the translation?

You will receive an invoice for the translation. In the case of large or complex projects, I may request that part of the fee is paid in advance.
